Skylights UK – Terms of Use for Consumers
1. These Terms
These terms and conditions apply to the supply of products by Skylights UK, whether goods or services. Please read them carefully before placing your order, as they explain who we are, how products will be provided, how contracts can be changed or ended, what to do in case of a problem, and other important information. If we need to contact you, we'll use the details you provided in your order, by phone or in writing (which includes email) .
3. Our Contract With You
- Acceptance of your order occurs when we write to you to confirm, creating a contract between you and us.
- If we cannot accept your order, we will inform you and not charge you. This could be due to out-of-stock items, unexpected limits on resources, credit reference issues, pricing errors, or inability to meet your delivery deadline .
- We only deliver to UK addresses .
- Any quotation provided is valid for 14 business days and does not constitute an offer .
4. Our Products
- Product images are for illustration only; actual colours, packaging, and sizes may vary slightly (2% tolerance on measurements) .
- If goods are made to your measurements, you are responsible for accuracy .
5. Making Changes
- If you want to change your order, contact us. We’ll let you know if it’s possible, any price changes, shift in delivery times, or other relevant changes, and ask for your confirmation .
- We may make minor changes to the products to reflect laws or for technical reasons, which won’t affect use .
6. Providing the Products
- Delivery costs will be confirmed during ordering or set out in our price list .
- Estimated delivery dates will be given at order placement .
- We are not responsible for delays outside our control; we'll inform you and minimise delay. If delay is substantial, you may end the contract and receive a refund for undelivered products .
- Collection is available at the above address during business hours (8am–4pm, weekdays, excluding public holidays) .
- If you miss delivery or do not rearrange, we may charge storage or delivery costs or end the contract .
- If you don’t allow access for services, we may charge extra costs and potentially end the contract .
- If we deliver late and it was essential, you may treat the contract as ended and receive a refund .
7. Responsibility and Ownership
- You are responsible for goods from the time they are available for unloading at your address or upon collection by you/a carrier .
- You own the goods once payment is received in full .
8. Suspension and Your Rights
- We may suspend supply to deal with technical issues, update to reflect law, or make agreed changes. We will inform you unless it's urgent/emergency .
- If suspended longer than 12 weeks, we’ll adjust the price. If more than 16 weeks, you may end the contract and get a refund for the period after termination .
- If you do not pay on time, we may suspend products after 30 days and charge interest .
9. Ending the Contract
- You can end the contract before product delivery or completion at any time, but may be charged reasonable compensation unless the reason is our fault (e.g., delay, error, change you don’t agree with, or legal right due to our breach) .
- If you end after dispatch, you must return the products; we may pay return costs only in certain circumstances .
- We may end the contract if you break it, e.g., non-payment after 30 days, not providing necessary information, or failing to enable delivery/collection/access. We may deduct reasonable compensation for costs incurred .
- If we withdraw the product, we’ll refund any sums paid in advance for unprovided items .

- Your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015:
- Goods: Must be as described, fit for purpose, and satisfactory quality.
- 30 days: Faulty goods – immediate refund.
- 6 months: Repair/replacement or refund if unsuccessful.
- 6 years: You may claim if goods do not last a reasonable time .
- Services: We must do them with care and skill; reasonable price/time if not agreed.
- Goods: Must be as described, fit for purpose, and satisfactory quality.
11. Price and Payment
- Prices (including VAT) are those in force at your order, unless otherwise agreed .
- If VAT changes before delivery, we will adjust the price .
- If a pricing error is found, we will let you know; obvious errors may result in contract cancellation and refund .
- Payment must be made within 30 calendar days of invoice unless otherwise agreed. Late payments attract 4% above Bank of England base rate as interest .
- If you believe an invoice is wrong, contact us; interest will not apply during disputes .
12. Our Responsibility for Loss or Damage
- We are responsible for foreseeable losses caused by breach of contract or lack of reasonable care and skill.
- We do not limit/exclude liability where it would be unlawful (e.g., death/injury by negligence, fraud, statutory rights, or defective products).
- If we damage your property while providing services, we will make good, except for pre-existing faults .
- No liability for business losses; supply is for personal use only .
13. Data Protection
- Your personal information will be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy (available on request or from our website) .
14. Other Terms
- We may transfer our rights/obligations, but you need our consent to transfer yours, except for guarantees.
- No-one else has rights under this contract except if you transfer our guarantee.
- If any part of the contract is found unlawful, the rest remains in force .
- Delay in enforcing rights does not mean we waive them .
- These terms are governed by English law. Legal proceedings can be brought in England (or Scotland/Northern Ireland if you reside there) .
